Former Donegal All-Ireland winner dies in Co Cavan crash

Former Donegal All-Ireland winner James McHugh has died following a crash in Co Cavan on Monday.The collision, involving a car and a van, took place on the N3 at Drummallagh, between Virginia and Cavan, just before 2pm.Mr McHugh, aged in his 60s, was fatally injured in the collision.It has also been reported that his wife, Noreen, was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital.The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, sustained minor injuries and was also take to hospital. The much-loved footballer was part of the 1992 team which lifted the Sam Maguire Cup, alongside his brother Martin.He is the father of current Donegal player Eoin McHugh.The late Mr McHugh’s local club, CLG Chill Charta, said in a statement that they were “devastated to hear of the tragic and untimely passing of one of o
