Fire service issues new statement as latest Saddleworth Moor blaze now 'under control'

At its height, the fire covered an area measuring 500m by 150m, the fire service said, with eight crews at the scene.‌Drone pictures show the huge area of moorland scorched in the blaze, with smoke blowing across the road. Tonight (Thursday) crews remain at the scene after almost 24 hours, but the blaze has been brought under control.
