Fear in Walkden neighbourhood that has 'gone downhill' after horror stabbing

'Nothing like this has happened here before'17:23, 04 Sep 2026Residents have spoken of their concerns after a man was left fighting for life in a stabbing in Salford.‌Officers were called to a reports a man had been knifed at an address on Manchester Road, in the Linnyshaw area of Walkden, at around 8:15am.‌Armed police were seen descending on the area along with paramedics, with a cordon being put in place.‌Click here to get the biggest stories straight to your inbox in our Daily NewsletterA man in his late 20s was found with injuries 'consistent with a stabbing' and was taken to hospital for treatment, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. He is currently in a life-threatening condition they added.No arrests have yet been made with enquiries into the incident continuing, the force said.‌
