Farmers in three Belagavi taluks to get interim relief

Farmers who have suffered crop damage due to drought will get interim compensation, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan said in Belagavi on Monday.Farmers cultivated green gram and black gram and have suffered crop loss in over 29,000 hectares in three taluks in the district.These farmers will get an interim compensation of ₹2,500 per acre.“Officials have prepared a detailed report of the crop loss survey in Yaragati, Savadatti and Ramdurg taluks. They have recommended declaring them as drought-hit areas. The report will be submitted to the State government in two days,” the Deputy Commissioner told reporters.“There has been some shortage of rainfall in Athani and Kagwad taluks also.
