Fallen tree leads to train cancellations in Greater Manchester

A tree fell on the railway line in the Bromley Cross area, near Bolton, this morning (August 19).It meant no services could run between Bolton and Blackburn. The issue was affecting services which run between Bolton and Rochdale.A post on the National Rail website said: "A tree blocking the railway between Bolton and Darwen means all lines are blocked. As a result, no trains will run between Bolton and Blackburn. Disruption is expected until 10:30." The incident has since been cleared.This is a live event. Follow the latest updates below.View
