Faces of Portuguese Research: Patrícia Maciel

When Patrícia Maciel arrived in Braga in 2002, the School of Medicine at the University of Minho was still finding its feet, and the research institute being built alongside it had no real precedent in Portugal. She came to teach biochemistry, but what she ended up helping to build would change what a research institute could look like in this country.
