Ex-Blue Jays catcher faced with tough surgery decision for Rangers

A former Toronto Blue Jays catcher and current Texas Ranger has the fate of his season in the palm of his hands. Rangers backstop Danny Jansen will decide whether to undergo an internal brace procedure within the next two to three weeks, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. Jansen has been on the IL since June with a forearm injury. If he opts to get the surgery, it'll force him out for the remainder of the 2026 season. “I’m trying to ramp up, so we are trying to push through some pain and see how it responds,” Jansen told Grant. “That's where I am right now.
