English pass rate below 75pc in 7 out of 9 boards

The pass rate in English was below 75 percent in seven of the nine general education boards in this year’s SSC examinations.English also recorded a lower pass rate than both Bangla and Mathematics in eight of the nine boards.Mymensingh recorded the lowest English pass rate at 66.64 percent, followed by Sylhet at 69.11 percent and Barishal at 69.24 percent.The pass rate of English stood at 71.84 percent in Jashore, 72.27 percent in Chattogram, 72.91 percent in Dinajpur and 74.70 percent in Rajshahi.Only Cumilla and Dhaka recorded English pass rates above 75 percent. Cumilla had the highest rate at 81.29 percent, while Dhaka recorded 78.40 percent.In comparison, Bangla pass rates were above 90 percent in most boards, while Mathematics also performed better than English in all boards except D
