Emergency services swarm Middleton town centre in stand off with man on roof

NewsGreater Manchester NewsMiddletonThe M.E.N understands the man is wanted by police17:39, 22 Jul 2026Updated 17:39, 22 Jul 2026Police and fire services are responding to a man on the rood of a property in Middleton town centre this afternoon (Wednesday, July 22).‌A police cordon is in place at Market Place, as police blocked the road from both ends, with buses being diverted. Images from the scene showed a large emergency services presence at the scene this afternoon.‌It's understood Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at around 1pm. A number of ambulance crews attended the incident with specialist units, including Enhanced Rescue Unit and a Tactical Aid Unit, also present at the incident.‌Click here to get the biggest stories
