El Salvador Proposes Central American Union Modeled on EU

El Salvador's Vice President Félix Ulloa has proposed transforming the Central American Integration System (SICA) into a "Central American Union" modeled on the European Union. Presented on June 23, 2026, the proposal is not adopted policy and requires review and agreement by SICA member states.
