ECHR condemns Italy after inmate dies after losing 25 kg
The European Court of Human Rights on Tuesday condemned Italy over a 28-year-old prison inmate who died at the end of 2019 after losing 25 kg in seven months. The man, Antonio Raddi, claimed he was unable to eat in the jail in Turin before dying on December 30 that year. Following a complaint from his family, the Turin prosecutor's office investigated the case. However, after completing their investigations, the prosecutors requested and obtained the dismissal of the case, with a judge finding no criminal liability for inadequate medical supervision.
