E-2-wheelers cross 2L mark as EV sales soar
NEW DELHI/ CHENNAI: India’s EV market hit a new high in July with registrations across categories jumping over 66% to around 3.3 lakh units, compared with just under 2 lakh units in July 2025, amid elevated oil prices, a wider choice of models and expanding dealer networks. Last June 3.1 lakh EVs were registered across the country, according to Vahan data.Electric two-wheelers drove most of the growth, crossing 2-lakh monthly mark for first time. Registrations rose to 2,04,201 units in July from about 1.95 lakh in June and around 1.1 lakh in the year-ago period. Electric models accounted for around 11.2% of all two-wheelers registered in the month, up from 10.6% in June.
