DWP update after Andy Burnham rules out payments for 3.5 million people

The Makerfield MP and Labour Party Prime Minister ruled out DWP payouts ahead of succeeding Sir Keir Starmer.‌WASPI chief Angela Madden has now said Mr Burnham, the former Greater Manchester Mayor, must meet campaigners to discuss “fair redress”. As many as 3.5 million women are part of the campaign, according to the WASPI website.‌The Labour Party government first rejected compensation in the wake of the 2024 Ombudsman report.
