DVLA to pilot new digital system in August to end illegal number plate embossing and cloning – CEO

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will begin piloting its new digital vehicle registration system in August 2026, as part of efforts to eliminate the cloning of number plates and strengthen vehicle identification processes.
