Authorities launched a massive search and rescue effort with the sheriff’s department, the Coast Guard, marine resources officials and volunteers. Tragically, they recovered a body matching Wells’s description on Monday afternoon. Wells’s mother asked for time to grieve her son. Instead, the internet chose a race war.
