It was catnip for the press. A black woman sitting quietly. A group of masked white nationalists surrounding her. Some called it the “defining image” of our time. Others said it was the modern-day representation of the Civil Rights era. There’s no evidence that members of Patriot Front threatened her, approached her or even spoke to her.
