Duke-Michigan blockbuster canceled after broadcast dispute derails massive rematch

One of the biggest games on the 2026-27 college basketball calendar has officially been wiped away. Duke and defending national champion Michigan will no longer meet on Dec. 21 after the schools and other involved parties failed to finalize an agreement for the highly anticipated nonconference showdown, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.The matchup was originally scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden before complications involving broadcast rights forced organizers to explore a dramatic move to LoanDepot Park, home of MLB’s Miami Marlins.
