Drone Strikes Ignite Syzran and Ilsky Refineries

Ukrainian attack drones struck the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara region and the Ilsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar region early Saturday morning, Aug. 8. The Syzran plant (8.9 million tons annual capacity) suffered a massive fire following multiple explosions, while five people were injured at the Ilsky plant (6.6 million tons annual capacity). The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted nearly 400 drones across more than a dozen regions overnight.
