Donald Trump’s Coalition Is Coming Apart
Republicans heralded Donald Trump’s 2024 victory as the birth of a new majority: a multiracial, working-class coalition powered by newfound support among black and Latino voters, particularly men, who had finally abandoned the Democrats over inflation, the cost of living, and immigration. While that conclusion may have been warranted in November 2024, it is not anymore. Indeed, over the course of 2026, Trump’s new coalition has been coming apart at the seams.
