Dolphin spotted in Venice's Grand Canal
A dolphin was spotted in Venice's Grand Canal Thursday prompting the mayor to appeal to ensure its safety. The animal was reported this morning in the Grand Canal, much to the delight of tourists and residents. Venice's Mayor, Simone Venturini, shared a video of the sighting on his social media channels, urging boaters in the waters of the historic center to exercise utmost caution to protect the animal's safety. It has not yet been determined whether the sighted dolphin is Nane, the dolphin that has frequented St. Mark's Basin in recent months, or another individual. The numerous reports received in recent hours make it even more important to remain vigilant while boating.
