The owner has been banned from keeping animals after18:49, 11 Jul 2026A man who neglected two Jack Russell terriers, letting them get so grossly overweight that one had to be put down, has been banned from keeping animals for 15 years and handed a suspended prison sentence.‌A vet and an RSPCA inspector who saw the animals, said the largest weighed 14.2 kgs and was the most overweight dog they had seen.‌William Johns, 68, of Lime Court, Swansea, pleaded guilty to two offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and appeared for sentencing at Swansea Magistrates’ Court. As well as the disqualification Johns received an eight-month custodial sentence which was suspended for two years.
