THE BRITISH VERSION of The Office marked its 25th anniversary this week. The mockumentary series was originally was created by comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, with Gervais taking on the lead role of David Brent across its 14 episodes. The series went on to inspire a US adaptation of the same name, which starred Steve Carell as Michael Scott and enjoyed a much longer 201-episode run.
