Discord suspends livestreams to comply with Brazil’s requirements

Discord announced that it had suspended, for an indefinite period, users’ ability to stream videos on the app. The preventive suspension of this feature was ordered by the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) on August 12. The measure was imposed to curb incidents of violence and coercion against minors under 18, such as the case involving a 13-year-old girl who took her own life on July 22.
