Devotees flock Mahalakshmi temples on first day of Sravanamasa

The Astalakshmi temple in Srikakulam gears up for Sravanam celebrations. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT On the the first day of Sravanam month, Mahalakshmi temples in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts wore a festive look as devotees offered special prayers on Thursday.The month is considered significant for women devotees who visit the temples seeking blessings of the Goddess of the wealth.Priests performed ksheerabhisekham to the Astalakshmi idols and informed that kumkum puja would be held daily on the temple premises. Temple trustee P. Jaganmohana Rao said that the temple constructed a decade ago is the first temple dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi in Srikakulam.The famous Kammasigadam Mahalakshmi temple of Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district also witnessed a significant rush of devotees
