Staffordshire County Council has closed a road in Cannock Chase after a wildfire took hold on the heathland on Sherbrook Valley last night.‌Chase Road, from the Camp Road turning to Brocton Nursery, has been temporarily closed "to reduce the risk of smouldering areas reigniting."‌The road is not expected to reopen until Monday, August 3, when it will be reviewed.‌READ MORE: Stabbed Rottweiler's body dumped beneath bridgeIt was described as "a large fire" at the site in Brocton at 6pm yesterday (Thursday 30 July), when the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Fire service were called to the area.Crews are still o
