Department for Transport confirm new MOT rules for three groups of drivers

Three groups of drivers have been impacted by the new rules from July 6, with new maximum service charges introduced for three sets of motorists.Under the DVSA shake-up, the maximum service charge to secure an MOT test for HGVs, trailers and buses and coaches will go up. The cost will rise from £55 to £70 for HGVs, go up £40 to £50 for trailers, and also increase from £70 to £90 for buses and coaches.The Department for Transport said: “We believe raising the maximum HGV test service charge by £15 (a maximum 9% increase in overall costs for vehicle operators if ATFs charge the full amount) is appropriate.READ MORE Thousands of r
