When the White House released its AI Action Plan last year, the term "data center" was mentioned only twice: once to prioritize building high-security centers for military and intelligence communities, and another to tout the United States as the leader in data center construction. Now, nearly every midterm election poll gauges voter response to the mass structures that are upending public opinion across the political spectrum, spelling trouble for Republicans and opportunity for Democrats.
