Cyclist in serious condition after collision with van in Old Swan

Shortly before 6.30pm on Monday, August 3, Merseyside Police received a report a man in his 30s on a bike had been hit by the van on Prescot Road, near the junction with Ennismore Road, in Old Swan.‌The cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment for a leg injury, where he is in a serious but stable condition. The white van was driven away from the scene and a police cordon was set-up.‌Following enquiries, a 34-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving, drink driving, drug driving, driving while disqualified and failing to stop.
