CWA lifts warnings as typhoon moves northwest

Staff writer, with CNA The Central Weather Administration (CWA) lifted its land and sea warnings for Typhoon Bavi yesterday morning as the storm weakened and moved away from Taiwan, after bringing heavy rain and strong winds.The land warning was lifted at 5:30am, followed by the sea warning at 8:30am, the CWA said.As of 8am, Bavi’s center was about 410km north of the Matsu Islands and was moving northwest, with its speed slowing from 21kph to 13kph, the CWA said.
