Cubs' young infielder could be one to watch during the second half

The Chicago Cubs have been one team that has been steadily working through injuries this season. Much of it has come from their pitching staff, but with Matt Shaw hitting the IL back in late May, the team needed to call in a reinforcement. Enter Pedro Ramirez, who had become the club's No. 7 prospect before getting called up on May 22. He was tearing it up in Triple-A, hitting .312/.395/.547 with nine home runs and 40 runs batted in. The Cubs were on a losing streak when Ramirez entered the lineup, but he became a bit of an offensive spark for the club. Across 30 games, he is hitting .286/.329/443 with a homer and 11 runs batted in.
