Cubs are logical trade partners for Angels if most recent report is true

The Los Angeles Angels are in no position to acquire talent for their Major League roster this season. In fact, the Angels should be one of baseball's biggest sellers at this year's trade deadline. Still, the AL West organization has its eyes set on the future, according to a recent report from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon. "The Angels, according to a person briefed on their pursuits, are interested in acquiring a young catcher," Rosenthal and Sammon wrote. Currently, the Angels have backstop Logan O'Hoppe under contract through the 2028 season. He hasn't had the strongest season, hitting just .211/.275/.300 with just four home runs, along with a -0.6 bWAR in 72 games.
