A mobile phone revealed evidence to their plot11:14, 06 Jul 2026Three men used a drone to smuggle £6,000 worth of drugs into a prison. In October 2025, an iPhone was seized from Thomas Garcia, 32, at HMP Hindley, showing evidence that he had coordinated for a drone to deliver a 2kg package containing around 1kg of cannabis resin, tobacco, a mobile phone and charger into the prison overnight between Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19.‌The drone successfully delivered the package and Garcia arranged to distribute the contraband within the prison.
