By the time she retired last March, Sharon and her husband Sean, 61, had £350,000 in investments, which they thought would be enough to last them until they got their state pension at 67.‌The couple, from Sheffield, planned to withdraw £1,000 a month from an easy access savings account, but are now having to withdraw an extra £500 a month, due to the skyrocketing cost of living.
