Huge blazes are just nine miles from the city of Bordeaux with officials warning the next 24 hours will be crucial to save the city. The fires on the continent are being fuelled by scorching temperatures, dry conditions and strong winds. But as high heat returns to the UK, experts have weighed in on whether similar infernos could erupt in Britain.
