The A193 Seafront active travel corridor will connect Blyth to existing pedestrian and cycle routes in North Tyneside.‌The scheme was initially expected to cost £9.7 million, with most of the bill footed by the North East Strategic Mayoral Authority. However, at Tuesday's meeting of Northumberland County Council's cabinet, it was revealed the cost has risen to £13.5 million.‌The scheme will provide a segregated space for walking, cycling and wheeling between Blyth and Old Hartley, along with improved crossing points and bus stops.
