Controversial tennis star slammed for ‘disgraceful’ effort during comeback event
Bernard Tomic has long been a controversial figure in the tennis world, and he continued to stir the pot on Friday at the Los Cabos Open. Cam Norrie, the former Wimbledon finalist, boat raced Tomic 6-1, 6-0 in the quarterfinals Friday. Tomic won the opening game of the match, but that would be all the success the Aussie saw in the 51-minute defeat. Things grew so dire for Tomic that on the last service game of the first set, it looked like he wasn’t even trying. After he won the opening point, Tomic lazily hit two wide forehands and softly sent a third one into the net. He then double faulted to give Norrie the set-winning game in ugly fashion.
