He was working as a contract employee under a Bescom contractor, Ravish/Margadarulu Gangadhar.According to the complaint, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, near the T.T. Bande Road and Marishammapalya Light area. Palayya had climbed an electricity pole to carry out work when he came into contact with a live electrical line and suffered an electric shock.
