Congress workers get into an altercation over selection of office-bearers in Belagavi

Congress workers got into a scuffle at the district Congress office in Belagavi during a consultation with senior leaders about selection of district-level office-bearers on Monday (July 27).AICC Observer Manoj Chavan was collecting the opinions of party workers about the next district president and others, when Ramesh Kudchi, former MLA, began to speak. He criticised some leaders including Minister Satish Jarkiholi. Hemanth Lingade, a follower of Mr. Kudchi, also made a statement criticising the style of functioning of the Minister and others. Some workers were upset at this and got into an altercation with Mr. Lingade and other followers of Mr. Kudchi.Tension prevailed in the office for some time before police officials reached the spot and prevented further escalation.
