Clash over religious structures in Raichur’s Bichali Camp

Tensions flared up at Bichali Camp in Raichur taluk following a heated dispute between two groups over the site of a church and an Anjaneya temple on Tuesday, leading to stone-pelting and leaving two persons injured.The injured are currently receiving medical treatment at the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital.The dispute centres around a church and an Anjaneya shrine constructed roughly 50 metres apart at a rehabilitation site where no residents have settled yet. The dispute has reportedly been simmering over the past two months.
