Chinese-owned plant in Pampanga linked to substandard steel bars

MABALACAT CITY, PAMPANGA, Philippines — Substandard steel products manufactured by a Chinese-owned steel plant in Magalang, Pampanga, may have already been used in buildings and other infrastructure across the country, potentially leaving them vulnerable during future earthquakes, top law enforcement officials warned on Tuesday. The warning came after authorities raided and shut down Chuangxing Steel
