Centre planning to reduce aqua feed prices: Union Minister

Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma on Sunday said the Centre was working on a viable action plan to address the steep rise in aqua feed prices in Andhra Pradesh.Representatives of aqua farmers from the State met Mr. Srinivas Varma in Bhimavaram and discussed the challenges facing the aquaculture sector.Mr. Srinivas Varma said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with a delegation of Members of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh, had recently urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal to intervene in the matter.He said the Centre was considering measures to reduce aqua feed prices and that an announcement in this regard was expected soon.
