Case against man who turned in gun defies common sense
As the Sun-Times' Frank Main reported, Nakia Smith, a convicted felon who is not lawfully permitted to possess a firearm, entered a police station in possession of a gun, ostensibly to turn in the gun to authorities. That he had no other purpose in doing this must be acknowledged by all.
Can't the Cook County state's attorney and criminal justice system sometimes exercise some common sense and temper justice with some mercy?
And, no, I am not one of those lakefront liberals.
