Cagliari striker Trepy in serious condition in induced coma after almost drowning

Yael Trepy, a 20-year-old French forward for Serie A club Cagliari, is in serious condition after almost drowning Sunday, medical sources said Monday. He has been hospitalized since Sunday evening in the intensive care unit of the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari, following a near-drowning incident in a swimming pool at a villa in Porto Cervo, on the Costa Smeralda. A chest CT scan performed on the striker revealed large amounts of fluid in his lungs, which is impeding oxygen exchange.
