Burnham should beware dumbing down

When I was a child, my grandmother used to make up little fairy tales for me. The characters would be loosely based on people in our family, and part of the fun was working out who was who. One of them went a little bit like this. Once upon a time, there was a very poor family who didn’t have enough food to eat. All the children of the family went hungry.
