Burned field mouse ‘miraculously’ rescued from wildfire by firefighters

A burnt field mouse was saved from a wildfire(Picture: Towcester Fire Station / SWNS) A ‘miraculous’ field mouse has survived a raging wildfire after being rescued by eagle-eyed firefighters. Fire crews were called to Kings Sutton, Northamptonshire, on Thursday, August 13, after a blaze broke out shortly after 3pm. While putting out the flames, a long-tailed field mouse was spotted, darting in and out of smouldering hedge rows by firefighters. After finally catching the singed animal, the firefighters from Towcester station gave it water before releasing it near a family of mice. The fire is believed to have been caused by sunlight reflecting on broken glass, with the rays hitting dry grass.
