Sunderland Empire shared a statement on its social media pages confirming that the Thursday, August 13 performance of the musical was unable to go ahead. It comes after the performance was pushed back from Thursday, August 6 due to "technical requirements".‌The musical is a stage version of the 2010 movie featuring Christina Aguilera, Cher and Stanley Tucci saving a burlesque club from closure.
