Budanov Says Putin Ignored Ukraine’s Ceasefire Proposal

Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that Russia failed to respond to a proposed ceasefire coinciding with the visit of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Budanov said the proposal for a temporary halt to airstrikes and frontline combat was communicated directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin. While noting the ongoing Russian drone attacks, Budanov speculated that Moscow would not strike Kyiv during the envoys’ scheduled visit on Sept. 6.
