BRTC to roll out pink buses, operated by women for women

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) is set to roll out pink buses operated by women drivers and conductors for female only passengers on Tuesday.According to a BRTC press release issued today, the service will be inaugurated at the BRTC Dhaka Truck Depot in Tejgaon at 10:00am.Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam will attend the programme as chief guest. Habibur Rashid, state minister for railways and road transport and highways, and Dr Mohammad Ziaul Haque, secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division, will be present as special guests.BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla, also an additional secretary, will chair the programme.BRTC said the initiative was part of the government’s programme to implement commitments made in its election
