British horse riders killed hours apart as sport shattered by double tragedy

Two British cross-country horse riders have been killed in separate accidents just hours apart, eventing authorities have announced.Sophie Fouracre and Kerry Donoghue both died following incidents at separate equestrian competitions on Saturday. Ms Fouracre, who was 34, suffered fatal injuries while riding Rhubarbsfox Brittania at Swalcliffe Park in Oxfordshire, while Ms Donoghue, 42, died in an accident just hours later while riding Carneyhaugh Rua at Penrith in Cumbria.Despite an immediate medical response, neither rider could be saved and they tragically passed away from their injuries.
