Luca Toland-Ogg, eight, sadly passed away on Thursday, July 8.The youngster, from Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, died six years after being diagnosed with Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, which affects approximately 1 in 380,000 people. The rare disorder saw the youngster battle symptoms such as high muscle tone, developmental delay, high levels of uric acid (affecting kidneys) and behaviours that led to self-injury.Luca was admitted to hospital in March for a hip operation.
